Hi! This is the Weiqi World of unkx80. As you might know, there are many other terms for Weiqi, including Go, Baduk, Wei Ch'i, Goe, and so on.

How To Play Go

So what is How To Play Go? It is, as its name implies, a text on teaching beginners how to play Weiqi. No knowledge on Weiqi is assumed. Well, Weiqi is a game originated in China thousands of years ago, with a very heavy oriental style. Well, I have written this English text to teach one of my friends, who do not understand the Chinese language well. In my area, Chinese Weiqi books are widely available, but there are hardly any English books on Weiqi, let alone beginner text. Since I have written this text, I guess I might just publish it on the Internet for the benefit of everybody. I can say that this is one of the most comprehensive beginner texts you can find on the Internet, free of charge.

Chinese Go Terms

This is a translation of Chinese Weiqi terms to their English equivalents. Its creation is also largely a response to a particular post in the newsgroup rec.games.go, which requested for such translations so that Chinese Weiqi terms found in China Weiqi websites can be understood.

Chinese Go Terms is also hosted on Sensei's Library.
